'Say Aah'

This week I chose a video of Lindsey Pavo performing an amazing cover of the well-known song 'Say Aah.' This song was originally recorded by Trey Songz with a hip-hop and r&b inspired style. Trey Songz' 'Say Aah' was at the top of the charts for weeks as well as won multiple awards. Lindsey takes this popular song and by imparting her unique voice and style, truly makes this song her own.  I think covers are important to the musical world because they show a different point of view of something familiar. Covers have the ability to transcend a song from one genre to the next, as well as allowing an artist to span across multiple generations and relating to listeners they would not normally be able to connect with.
